Since, you already have a job, now would be the time to spend the extra money and get training that will help you with starting a home business. In addition, to formal education, brush up on what it will take to successfully run a home business.

In order to stay on track, create a plan. Presently, there are plenty of ideas roaming around in your head. Every day you have the urge to go off into different directions to get your business up and running. It’s good to have great ideas, but don’t become overwhelmed with all of your new ideas. Remain focused. Sit down and plan what needs to be done. Sure, you have one ultimate long term goal of starting a home business, but it may not seem like a daunting project if you create smaller projects for each step of the way. For example, plan what you want to accomplish for this week only. Get that done and then create a productive plan for the next week.
Now is not the time to exclude your family. Inform them of your ultimate goal of starting a home business. In order for you to be successful, each member of your household must be respectful of what you are trying to accomplish. Explain to everyone what you are trying to do. Family support will do wonders for your spirit.
Don’t do too much and become overwhelmed. Trying to maintain two jobs at one time can become very stressful, if you allow it. Now would be the best time to learn impeccable time management skills. If you are trying to start a new home business in your spare time at home, now is not the time to bring work home from your first job. Figure out how you can manage your time better on your day job so that it does not affect what you are doing at home. Find a way for your two worlds to balance without the added stress.
When you get bogged down and feel like you just can’t do it anymore, just envision your future. Think about how you are starting a home business and how important this is to you. Imagine the pride you will feel knowing that one day you will be your own boss and make your own decisions. If that does not do it, then think about how thankful you are to have the skills and motivation for starting a home business. Others will be both envious and proud of you.

The downside is that you must update frequently and you may have to work a little harder to build some of the credibility that is more easily offered to owners of static websites.
The biggest con when it comes to building your own home business website is that it can be very complicated. There are a lot of subtle and not too subtle nuances that go into creating a great website you’ll need to learn in order to do it right. Unfortunately that isn’t the only downside for website building.
The other is that search engines are not as willing to share the love, by way of high ranking, with websites as they are with blogs. Part of the reason is the fact that blogs post new and unique content frequently while websites are not generally updated as often.
Which is a Better Choice for You?
The choice is your choice and yours alone but there are times when blogs are better for your business and times when a website is the only way to go. Are you trying to create one landing page that will rank well and from which you can funnel all of the traffic you generate to other pages for the products you’re promoting? Or, do you want people to come back often and check frequently for updates to your site while it’s quickly climbing to the top of the search engine heap in your chosen keywords?
Once you have the answer to that question you’ll know, without a doubt, if a website that is static or a blog that is always being updated and added to is a more appropriate choice for your business.
