(AFL) Preview – The ST Kilda Saints vs The North Melbourne Kangaroos – Round 14 2012

The final match of the round at Etihad Stadium between the Saints and the Roos is a very crucial one for both teams as they are focused on securing a spot in the bottom half of the eight. There are currently five teams fighting it out for the last couple of spots. It’s tight how tight about as tight as a “fishes brown star and that’s water tight!”. Last time they bumped their heads together the Saints tore the Roo boys a new one by a massive (65) points at the same venue.

(AFL) Preview – The Brisbane Lions vs The Melbourne Demons – Round 14 2012

The Brisbane Lion vs The Melbourne Demons at “The Gabba” on Sunday afternoon in a very interesting game of two sides that have found some spark in recent weeks. Who ever wins will be sporting a (3-1) record in their past four games. The Lions and the Demons put in sensational efforts in beating West Coast and Essendon respectively in round 10.

(AFL) Preview – The Geelong Cats vs The Port Adelaide Power – Round 14 2012

The Geelong Cats host the visiting Port Adelaide Power at “The Cattery” on Sunday afternoon in what looks to be a very one-sided contest. The “Once we were warriors” Cats are struggling to stay in touch with the main bunch and are a real possibility in missing the finals in 2012. Port on the other hand are in more trouble than a “vegetarian at a beef growers BBQ” with an injury list that leaves the Powers brains trust with faces on them like a “festered pickle”.

(AFL) Preview – The West Coast Eagles vs The Gold Coast Suns – Round 14 2012

The West Coast Eagles host the winless setting Suns at “the house of pain” on Saturday afternoon in what looks like another “fat boy and his anorexic girlfriend on the see-saw scenario”. Last time they had a crack at each other in the Eagles sand pit back in round 11 last year the Westies got the coin by (19) points on the bell. This time I fear it will be a lot more painful for the visiting “banana benders”.

(AFL) Preview – The Essendon Bombers vs The Western Bulldogs – Round 14 2012

The Essendon Bombers and the Western Bulldogs have a crack at each other on Saturday night at Etihad Stadium. “The Thunderdome” hosts an interesting match with the Dons coming into this one after recording a (24) point win over the Dockers out in the “Wild West”, as for the distempered Doggies they front up here after being belted into the stratosphere by the roaring Lions last week to the tune of (58) painful points.

(AFL) Preview – The Adelaide Crows vs The Richmond Tigers – Round 14 2012

The Adelaide Crows host the Richmond Tigers at AAMI Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a game that is crucial for both teams. (AFL) Recap – The Collingwood Magpies vs The West Coast Eagles – Round 13

The Collingwood Magpies hosted the West Coast Eagles at “The G” home of the greatest game on earth. It was a game that many of the “talking heads” have heralded as this years Grand Final (I beg to differ). It was a gigantic struggle from the outset and one of the very best games so far this season. Like the round opener on Friday night both sides strutted out on to the park with a “never say die attitude” and performed accordingly for four action packed quarters of blue ribbon class football.

(AFL) Recap – The Western Bulldogs vs The Brisbane Lions – Round 13 2012

On Saturday night the Western Bulldogs hosted the Brisbane Lions on what looked on paper as another win for the Doggies. The lethal Lions had other ideas as they smashed the distempered Dogs by a massive (58) point margin at roads end. It is the first time in almost nine long painful years that the Lions have beaten the Dogs destroying their already very slim almost non-existance chance of making the September “cut off”.

(AFL) Recap – The Sydney Swans vs The Geelong Cats – Round 13 2012

The Sydney Swans hosted the Geelong Cats in the last of the reduced rounds at the SCG on Friday night in what was an absolute “ball tearer” that went right down to the wire. The slick Swans getting up over the reigning premiers in the last (90) seconds of the game. Andrejs Everitt was brought on for the returning super star Adam Goodes in the last quarter, Everitt took a contested mark from a incoming Alex Johnson entry into the forward 50 and smashed through the goal of his life to hand the Swans a (6) point win on the “death knock” depriving the “out of towners” of a much needed win.

The Melbourne Demons host “the orange boys” the Giants at “The G” on Sunday afternoon in the sides first ever meeting. It is also “the out of towners” first game at AFL HQ. Can they chalk up a win ? (AFL) Preview – The Collingwood Magpies vs The West Coast Eagles – Round 13 2012

The Magpies host the top of the table Eagles at “The G” AFL HQ in Saturdays twilight game. Last time these two clans faced off was back in last years qualifying final where the Pies got the coin by (20) points over the “sand gropers”. The MCG has not been a happy hunting ground for the visiting Eagles and if they are to be there for “the big one” they had better have a “glass of cement and toughen up”. The Coasters have only played at “The G” on three occasions in the past two years and lost every game. They have lost twice to Collingwood and once to Geelong there.

(AFL) Preview – The Fremantle Dockers vs The Essendon Bombers – Round 13 2012

The Fremantle Dockers host the Essendon Bombers in a crucial game at “the house of pain” on Saturday in a game that both sides can ill afford to lose. The Dockers are sitting down in 11th position with a (6-5) record and the Dons have plummeted to 6th position with an (8-3) record. The Bombers have lost their last two on the trot going down to the Demons by (6) points then falling short by (5) points to get past the Swans.

The flagging Gold Coast Suns hosted the Slick Saints at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night in a game that looked like it was over before the first bounce. (AFL) Preview – The Essendon Bombers vs The Sydney Swans – Round 11 2012

The Essendon Bombers host the Sydney Swans at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night in a game that both teams can ill afford to lose. The Bombers still reeling from a (6) point loss to the dynamic Demons was not only an embarrassment but a sign that James Hird was clearly out coached and that his steeds had gone off ”the boil”, can they bounce back against the “Sydney siders” who are “hell bent” on securing a top four spot on the ladder.
