On Saturday night the “white-hot” Bombers look to continue their stellar start to the 2012 season when they do battle with the last placed Demons. The Bombers are sitting on a 8-1 record as they are fighting it out for top spot with the Eagles, only 2.4% separate the two teams. Last time the Bombers and the Demons banged their ugly heads together was back in round 11 last year where the Demons pumped the red and black army by 33 points. In recent times the Demons have been somewhat of “a thorn” in the Bombers side having beaten them on there last two occasions.

Preview – The Fremantle Dockers vs The Adelaide Crows – Round 10 2012

The Fremantle Dockers host the Adelaide Crows acroos in the Wild West at “the house of pain” the question is: who will feel the pain ? Last week the Dodgy Dockers were embarrassed in front of their faithful at the same venue when they were sent in to the stratosphere by their across town cousins to the tune of (48) points at stumps and the Crows were embarrassed at home falling on their sword and going down to the pumped up Pies by 26 points on the final horn.

Preview – The Geelong Cats vs The Greater Western Sydney Giants – Round 10 2012

The Cats host the “new kids on the block” at “The Cattery” on Saturday in a contest that will be about as interesting as watching “grass grow” to be sure as the Giants face an almighty task of trying to down the reigning premiers at the “house of pain”. This is the first time these two sides have faced off against each other and one would imagine that it will get very ugly about as ugly as the old girl across the road who works at the biscuit factory making gorilla biscuits with her face. A very bad “train wreck” is imminent.

On Sunday afternoon the Roos and the Doggies bumped heads at Etihad Stadium in a tough physical contest. The Roo boys were sporting a 3-3 record before the bounce and the Doggies were 2-4 and hoping to turn their form around. It was a “dog day afternoon” as the dirty dogs put the bite on the bounce less kangaroos and walked off the park with an 18 point win and the 4 points in their pockets.

On paper it looked to be a “cracker” of a game with the undefeated Eagles coming to the big city and the home side boasting a 5-1 record which many would say really should be 6-0 after the controversial clash on ANZAC Day with the Pies.

The young Lions hosted the Collingwood Magpies at “The Gabba” on Saturday night in what was a pretty average affair. The Pies put paid to the home boys by 58 points at stumps, but they were far from impressive in doing so. It was a costly win for the Pies with yet another injuried player to add to the mounting total, this time it was Nathan Brown who sustained a knee injury in the second term.

The Giants cometh yielding their razor-sharp axe like The Greek God “Thor” sending down lightning bolts! The Giants stomped on the Setting Suns. The two newest additions to the elite AFL league. The Giants put on a sensational display and it was clear from the first bounce that the Giants had not come to play classroom poker with toothpicks and that they had come to play for sheep stations.

Well as expected the Hawks put paid to the lowly Demons by 66 points. The Dees have firmed in to long odds on favourites for the spoon (at least in my book). Th hard nut Hawks flexed their muscles like “Hulk Hogan” before entering the ring in a WWF championship. Although the Hawkers kicking was atrocious and one could clearly see that some fur was needed to be put around the big sticks. They clearly showed that when the Hawk machine is fired up that they can turn their opposition team in to a bad train wreck.

What a great game to finish off rumping pumping round 7 on Monday night at Etihad Stadium. Last time these two teams banged heads together it was the Saints who reigned supreme getting up by 20 points on the horn. This time however the scores could be reversed with the flag seeking bionic Blues on the warpath. Can the Sinking Saints stop the rot ? They are 3-3 going in to round 7, as for the boys in blue they are 5-2 and on a tear.

The West Coast Eagles remain unbeaten on top of the ladder after holding off a determined Kangaroos push. The Eagles are off to their best start in the home and away season since 2007 and with mounting injuries it doesn’t seem to have deterred them from winning (at this point in time anyway). North Melbourne put in a real gutsy effort and as you know the scoreboard doesn’t always tell the true story…it was really only in the final quarter that the “sand gropers” opened the flood gates.
