AFLReview – The Collingwood Magpies vs The Essendon Bombers – Round 5
Round 5 in The AFL certainly didn’t let us down there was a little bit of everything for everyone! We started off with “The Blockbuster” the traditional big one at “The G” on ANZAC Day and what a game it was! The clash of ”The Titans” got off to a slow start ant The Pies led at every change, BUT they had to survive a late super-charged counter-attack from the mighty Bombers to get the coin.

The Roo boys board the big bird to fly up to old “steak and kidney” to take on the Swans after doing a “Conan The Barbarian” and slaying the Cats by 17 points last week. These two sides are pretty evenly matched but the big question is can the Roos break their eight year hoodoo at “The Fortress” on Sunday afternoon.

The Port Adelaide Power vs The Sydney Swans – Round 3 2012
The Power hosted The Sydney Swans at AAMI Stadium and many thought the Power would get the job done at home. The Swans have had “the wood” on Port Adelaide since 2006 and have now extended their losses to eight games, but in saying that this one wasn’t handed to the visitors on a platter thats for sure.

Last year was a different “kettle of fish” so to speak as the Western Bulldogs were a different unit and had the wood on the Crows. This year the tide has turned dramatically with the Crows taking off the mark like Mr. Bolt to be sure. Brenton Sanderson has turned things around in the crow’s nest and his magic is certainly working.

Both The Pies and The Tigers got cleaned up like a Sunday roast last week and will be looking to grab the four points here. Collingwood couldn’t bridge the gap between them and the Hawks and went down by 22 points on the bell and it was even worse for Richmond who were hammered by their old arch enemies the Blues by 44 points at roads end.

West Coast has made an absolutely sensational start to the home and away season by pumping The Western Bulldogs by 49 points away from home. The Melbourne Demons on the other hand were spanked by The young Lions at home to the tune of 41 points.

Whereas The Power held on through pure guts and determination to hold off a desperate Saints unit by 4 points on the horn.

AFL Port Adelaide Power vs The St. Kilda Saints – Round 1 Recap
In the “Grande Finale” of round 1 of the AFL home and away season It was Port and the Saints fans who were also presented with an awesome and truly sensational display of the greatest game on earth a real “Ball Tearer” to be sure. In a game that many thought would be a one-sided affair and just like a bloke having a sex change a “cut and shut” so to speak.

AFL The Western Bulldogs vs The West Coast Eagles – Round 1 Recap
Well what can you say……other than it was a “Dirty Day” for The Dogs as the West Coast Eagles cruised to an easy win. Goals for The Bulldogs were “as scarce as hens teeth” to be sure. It was simply a practice match for the soaring Eagles as they handed The Bulldogs a 49 point belting at Etihad Stadium and it was about as interesting as “watching paint dry” after the half- time break.

AFL The Melbourne Demons vs The Brisbane Lions – Preview Round 1
Let’s take a look at the pre-season form. The Demons had a sensational win against The Pies, but apart from that they were pretty ordinary. They were massacred by The Hawks and The Power (of all teams). Against Port Adelaide they certainly looked extremely lethargic, being decimated in the backline allowing lots of easy goals to be scored against them.

AFL The Hawthorn Hawks vs The Collingwood Magpies Round 1
The Hawks showed why they are highly fancied to hold up the “Holy Grail” in 2012 hammering through five of the last six goals scored in the final term. The Magpie battleship was taking on water faster than “The Bismarck”.

AFL Round 1 Wrap up “The Awesome, The Average, The Atrocious” Swans vs Giants
A great win by The Swans and a gutsy performance by the Giants in their first ever AFL encounter and let’s not forget they had 17 debutants in the side. The Giants just might not be the push over many think they will be. As for the Swans they are a hard nut to crack.
